August 4th - The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE: PG), the leading U.S. coffee company*, today expanded its Home Cafe(R) line with the launch of new specialty cappuccino, latte and tea pod varieties and new appliances from the Krups(R) and Mr. Coffee(R) brands. The new machines build upon Home Cafe's successful 2004 introduction of the Black & Decker(R) and Mr. Coffee(R) single cup brewers, designed to recreate the taste and aroma of coffeehouse-style coffee in the home. Among single-cup brewers, Home Cafe offers consumers the most coffeehouse-style beverage varieties. Home Cafe uses individual coffee, specialty and tea pods to produce single servings of fresh brewed, coffeehouse-style beverages in about a minute. Folgers(R) Cappuccino, Skinny Vanilla Latte and Lipton(R) tea pods are expected to be popular additions to an already extensive selection of black coffee pods exclusively from Folgers, America's No. 1 selling coffee brand, and Millstone(R). For additional information on the Home Cafe coffee pods or the Home Cafe brewing system, consumers may call 1-800-homeCafe or visit http://www.homeCafe.com. New Home Cafe Pods Home Cafe appliances' revolutionary design produces a consistent, high- quality, fresh-brewed single serving of coffee or tea at the touch of a button. Each pod contains a precisely measured portion of coffee or tea (specialty beverages also include dairy ingredients), sealed inside its own filter. Folgers Cappuccino pods, the first of their kind, offer consumers a smooth, creamy coffeehouse beverage in the comfort of their home. With only 60 calories and 3 grams of fat per 7oz serving, Skinny Vanilla Latte allows consumers to enjoy a guilt-free indulgence. Folgers Cappuccino and Skinny Vanilla Latte will be available at supermarkets and mass merchandise outlets nationwide in September 2005 with a suggested retail price of $4.99 for an 8-count pack. Folgers Cappuccino pods are currently available online at http://www.HomeCafe.com. The addition of Lipton tea pods makes the Home Cafe an even more versatile home appliance. Lipton Citrus Blossom, a green tea, as well as black tea pod varieties, including Vanilla Hazelnut, Raspberry Truffle and English Estate, will be available at supermarkets and mass merchandise outlets nationwide in September 2005 with a suggested retail price of $ 3.99 to $ 4.99 for a 20-count pack. Along with specialty beverages and tea, Home Cafe is also expanding its extensive line of black coffees with the introduction of Folgers Hazelnut and Millstone Hazelnut Cream Decaf. Future pod introductions will include mocha and cocoa. New Home Cafe Appliances The new Krups Home Cafe can brew either one or two cups of coffee simultaneously to save time, and with two independent pod holders, each cup can be a different variety of creamy or black coffee. This revolutionary system features a sleek new look, several cup-sizes and, for even better tasting coffee, a water filtration system built into the removable water tank. The Krups Home Cafe has a suggested retail price of $119.99 and is currently available at specialty and department stores. This state-of-the-art appliance brews a variety of black coffees, teas and specialty drinks, accommodates several cup-sizes, features a swiveling, removable water reservoir for convenience and offers an adjustable brewing spout to fit most cups and travel mugs.
